We are pleased to announce that we have redeveloped the API on Govt.nz based on your earlier feedback and via the Open Government Ninja’s Forum. It is now ready to use.
The API makes content from Govt.nz, such as government agency head office roles and contact information, available for anyone who wants to reuse it. It also includes the consultations listing which is helping the public to get involved in central and local government decision making.
The updates are still very new so we’re really keen to hear your feedback about what kind of information the API should carry, and how it should be structured and work to meet best practice.
We’re planning to make more of the content available via the API once we see how the current version of the API is being used. If you’ve got ideas on how we can improve the API please send us your feedback or have a chat with us at GovHack Wellington.
