The Government Chief Digital Office is reviewing the Application Programming Interface (API) guidelines. They’re open for feedback now until the .
Why we’re reviewing the guidelines
As part of the Service Modernisation Roadmap, we’re reviewing the API guidelines to make sure that they’re fit for purpose and meet agencies’ needs.
We also want to identify opportunities to better support API adoption. APIs can increase the focus on customer needs by enabling agencies to share information and deliver multi-agency or ‘joined-up’ services more efficiently.
The format of our review: DocRef
We’ve published the review using an innovative format to make reviewing them easier. We’re using DocRef, a rules-as-code product which converts the guidelines into structured, machine-readable data. This allows for extremely precise annotation, linking and cross-referencing.
