The 2017 Digital Planet report, produced by The Fletcher School at Tufts University, places New Zealand among the world’s digital elites — along with Singapore and the United Arab Emirates — with high levels of digital development and a fast rate of digital evolution.
This is the second time Fletcher School have identified New Zealand as a standout nation in their Digital Evolution Index. Our strong digital economy was attributed to a positive combination of infrastructure, incubating start-ups, a cultural commitment to innovation, and government support.
Fletcher School has been keeping a close eye on New Zealand because of our role as Chair of the D5 group of digitally advanced nations. They will be doing a case study about our digital approach, which will further put the spotlight on New Zealand's digital transformation.
