NZ AoG Common Process Model

The NZ All-of-Government (AoG) Common Process Model is a cloud-based set of standard business processes available to all government agencies.

Service description

The Back Office Digital Transformation Service provides access to, support, governance and maintenance of business processes for:

  • Finance
  • Human Resources (HR) Management — including payroll
  • Enterprise Asset Management
  • Information Technology (IT) Service Management
  • Procurement
  • Work Health and Safety.

Kia ora. I’m Kobus and I’d like to introduce you to New Zealand’s All-of-Government Common Process Model. So what’s it all about? The All-of-Government Common Process Model helps agencies save time and money by providing them with a set of cloud-based business processes for their back office projects and initiatives. It is the best starting point for agency back office projects and initiatives.

The Common Process Model provides 6 sets of business processes. They are HR, Finance, Procurement, Asset Management, IT Service Management, Workplace Health and Safety, and soon to include — Payroll.

The Common Process Model is a powerful tool for back office projects and initiatives, and it saves agencies time and money. We are excited about it and we’re looking forward to working with you very soon.

General support

The Back Office Digital Transformation Service provides:

  • email support response within 2 business days — Monday to Friday, to
  • onboarding
  • user guides
  • offboarding.

Maintenance

For all processes in the NZ AoG Common Process Model, the Service provides:

  • read-only access and minor enhancements
  • reference groups
  • monitoring and reporting
  • a common master back-office library or Golden Client approach — for agencies to share and reuse collateral.

Delivery

The Back Office Digital Transformation Service works within the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA).

DIA has subscribed to use Software AG’s ARIS platform to host the NZ AoG Common Process Model.

Benefits

The NZ AoG Common Process Model benefits investment initiatives, government agencies and New Zealand taxpayers by:

  • increasing specialised capacity and capability to support agencies’ needs with back-office design processes validated by the NZ AoG
  • aligning processes with international best practices and references — for example, Government Enterprise Architecture New Zealand (GEA-NZ)
  • creating time and cost-saving opportunities for agencies to reuse shared collateral.

Adopting the service

Public service agencies can register for access to the NZ AoG Common Process Model by emailing EnterpriseSupport@dia.govt.nz.

Check if your agency is eligible

Agencies on the Public Service Commission’s list of NZ government organisations can register for access to the NZ AoG Common Process Model.
