Report: Digital inclusion user insights — Disabled people

Read the report into the digital user experience of disabled people in 2020.

Note: As of March 2023, the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) has concluded the digital inclusion programme.

While digital inclusion remains an important issue for Aotearoa New Zealand, DIA currently has no sustainable funding to progress this work.

We appreciate the support and interest shown in digital inclusion through the course of this programme — thanks for being part of its journey.

The purpose of this research was to understand the perceptions and feelings about digital inclusion from people with disabilities as they go about their daily lives.

The goal was to understand the key pain points for individuals, what they liked about the current system and what improvements could be made to ensure a more equitable digital environment for all.

The report includes insights from disabled people and 5 recommendations for Government on how to increase digital inclusion.
