Stocktake: Digital inclusion initiatives
Exploring the digital inclusion initiatives under way in New Zealand across government and in the community, identifying gaps and opportunities.
Note: As of March 2023, the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) has concluded the digital inclusion programme.
While digital inclusion remains an important issue for Aotearoa New Zealand, DIA currently has no sustainable funding to progress this work.
We appreciate the support and interest shown in digital inclusion through the course of this programme — thanks for being part of its journey.
Taking stock of both government and community initiatives gives a cohesive view of all digital inclusion initiatives under way in New Zealand. This is vital for sharing the information with others, identifying gaps and combining similar initiatives if relevant.
Taking stock of current digital inclusion initiatives
The Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) carried out 2 stocktake surveys to understand the current landscape of digital inclusion initiatives across government and the community.
Together, the 2 stocktakes highlight what initiatives are in place to bring about digital inclusion in New Zealand with the overall aim of improving decision-making and support for digital inclusion in the future.
